Celebrate humanitarian efforts: submit your candidacy

The supply chain community is full of wonderful stories of organizations and individuals who took the skills that they have taken to obtain products to the market in full time and use them to support humanitarian relief efforts. Since 2017, the non -profit organization of the American logistical aid network (Alan) has only lies with some of these individuals and organizations through its human logistical awards.

For example, when the Idalia Big Bend Hurricane in Florida struck 2023, a small group of employees and retirees of the MidWest Hy -Ve supermarket to support relief efforts in the region. The “disaster relief fleet” in HY-VEE transported more than 181,000 bottles of drinking water; 2800 bags of ice; 2800 cases of snacks; And clean the affected area supplies. The relief fleet has also in partnership with the BBQ RELIEF operation – a non -profit organization for Barbecue Pit Master from Kansas City, Missouri – to provide 90,000 meals for affected residents as well as emergency management teams.

In appreciation of the Hy -Ve efforts, Alanan presented the company’s employee participation award in 2024 at the annual Edge Conference of the Council (CSCMP) in Nashville, Tennessee. Alan now asks for help in identifying other supply chain champions such as the Hy-Vee’s Disaster Relief team for ninth annual humanitarian logistical awards.

Alan Humanitarian Logistics Awards are open to any professional, academic, organization, or department supply chain. It is granted in four main categories, each of which can have many honorees:

• A prominent contribution to disaster relief, Who admits business or individuals for donations for financial or in -kind supply services for humanitarian crises or initiatives.
• Employee participation, Who admits business for their voluntary activities for employees on a humanitarian crisis or initiative.
• Research/academic achievement, Who recognizes commercial or individual contributions to the group of knowledge that supports human supply chains.
• Achievement of life, anyThe individual, who has caused by his work or charitable interests, recognizes a major positive impact on the activities of the crisis or the human supply chain.
