The port enables to deal with 470,450 equivalent units (TEUS) of incoming goods, due to the truce of the customs tariff between the United States and China. This increase in the activity emphasizes the impact of the volatility of the American tariff policies, and Jane Seroca, the executive director of the port. Retaires are currently speeding up their import activities in preparation for the next holiday season, with strong import volumes in July. However, a possible slowdown in August is expected, in conjunction with the potential implementation of the new definitions.
