The deadline for tariffs in Oakland Port imports

When importers defend their shipment in the United States before the date of the tariff on August 1, the Oakland port witnessed the highest total monthly import of 2025 in July. The loaded imports jumped by 31.4 % of 70,334 TEU (twenty -foot containers) in June to 92,392 TEU in July, according to the port.

“The outstanding definitions created a clear incentive for importers to pay the goods in advance, giving us a strong month in all fields,” Brian Brands, Port Oakland director in Auckland, said in the statement. “Since the front loaded charge is working on its way through the supply chain, we expect a more moderate pace in the coming months.”

Exports also increased by 10.1 %, with 65,595 Palestinian episodes transported through the port in July, compared to 59,593 from TEU in June. Together, the full TEUS total reached 157,987 for this month, increasing more than 21 % from June.

The ship’s activity also increased 23.4 % of 77 ships in June to 95 in July, as transport companies added more outlets calls to accommodate the additional size. The average Teus for each ship fell slightly from 2,187 in June, to 2,138 in July. Ports officials said this decrease is a natural shift when more ships share load.

A year to date, the TEUS total of Auckland Port until July is 1,346,022, or 1.9 % more than 2024. Follow -up imports by 3.5 % from last year, while loaded exports rise by 0.3 %.
