RXO: The use of the main performance indicators varies by industry sector

Supply chain experts vary through various industries in the ways they use major performance indicators (KPIS) to track and benefit transportation data, according to a study of the RXO transport service provider.

The report defines the uses of the main performance indicators in six columns in the industry: cars and goods packed for consumers, foods, drinks, health care, manufacturing and retail segments. According to RXO, these results can help charging the shipping professionals re -evaluating and improving their main performance indicators.

“Understanding how the entire shipping market approaches is an essential institution, but the different industries can have slightly different rules and requirements,” Ben Steve, Vice President of Solutions and Strategy at RXO. “The truck wants to know how to put their direct peers in the industry and manage their KPI standards. Now, with data from hundreds of companies, they can see exactly where the other trucks put in their vertical standard.”

The results of the report, called “Logistical KPI standards, by industry”, include these crashes for industry:

  • Food and drink trucks are the largest believers in the main performance indicators – a large majority of trucks believe that the main performance indicators are an essential part of logistical management, but in 96 % of the respondents, food and drink trucks were the largest believers.
  • Health care trucks are the most advanced in KPI tracee – when they are asked to assess their ability to track supply chain standards, health care was the most vulnerable to evaluating themselves as advanced (58 % of respondents, which were 14 % before the average).
  • Retail and health care trucks are likely to use Amnesty International – 74 % of health care trucks and 73 % of retail trucks mentioned that they are using artificial intelligence in their logistical operations, the highest reported use.
  • Car shipments and CPG have become more striking on their transport companies – 72 % of cars and 69 % of respondents for consumers’ bottled (CPG) they said they raised their main performance indicators standards in response to the increase in consumer expectations, making them the only industries above average (60 %).
  • Manufacturers are the most demanding-as they reached average of 39 % of the respondents whose expectations exceeded industry standards through the main basic logistical performance indicators (capture on time, delivery on time, acceptance of initial tenders, shipping values, payment conditions, and accuracy of prediction), and manufacturers were the most demanding industry.

“The management of the supply chain data is incredibly important for the trucks, regardless of the industry. Modern logistical professionals can verify their strategies against these personal files because they define the technologies that must be used, which must be tracked, the location of the standards, and how to benefit from data to pay efficiency,” said Steffes.
