Vienna South Station expanded ongoing media

The project will enhance the capacity at the main shipping station by 44 %.

The construction will start this month in the second and final stage of the program to expand the southern multimedia station. The project will increase the capacity by 44 % from 380,000 to 547,000 heat immunization containers. The Austrian Federal Railways (öbb) says it will meet the increasing demand for multimedia services.

The project includes adding new paths and demand to simplify the train treatment and increase the capacity in the facility.

The work includes the addition of a new automatic mechanical crane and the upgrade of the current lifans to automatic operation. A total of eight routes will be available 700 meters when the project is completed, which is expected by the end of 2026 to assign in 2027.

The station was built between 2013 and 2016 and is located at the intersection of the Vienna external road S1 Expressway and the PottenDorf line, providing access to three shipping routes across Europe.

Vienna South is one of the seven cargo stations owned by öbb in Austria. It is operated by Austria Service Service (TSA) and primarily carries out containers, swap bodies, and semi -unacceptable.
