Request for truck load services that were cooled in August after clouds that depend on customs tariffs from imports, according to Dat Freight & Analytics, which run Dat One Freight Marketplace and Dat IQ Data Analytics.
The number of loads available in the immediate market increased during the last week of August, when the National Big and Pioneer Campaign was tightened on the Labor Day. In general, however, charging sizes were softer than usual for the month of August, especially for truck loads. Van TVI has been the lowest for August since 2021.
“August confirmed how the trucks who pull imports affect early in the year on the model seasonal demand for trucks,” Ken Adamo, Head of Dat Analysis, said in a statement. “Retaus commodities that usually move in August-appearance products to school and holidays, for example-already in stock.”
The TRUCK TRUCK (TVI) load has decreased to get dry, cold, and flat charging, reflecting fewer loads that were transferred last month against July:
- Van TVI: 236, a decrease of 8 % month on the month and 7 % less on an annual basis
- Reefer TVI: 193, a decrease of 6 % on the month, an increase of 1 % on an annual basis
- Flatbed TVI: 298, a decrease of 6 % month throughout the month, an increase of 2 % on an annual basis
Dat said that the prices fell with this declining demand, as the average price of national sites decreased through all types of equipment in August:
- Truck space: $ 2.03 per mile, a decrease of 2 cents from July
- River spot: $ 2.41 per mile, a decrease of 1 percent
- Flat spot: $ 2.49 per mile, a decrease of 6 cents
The rates of Linehaul, which excludes an amount equal to the average additional fuel fee, are tracked with changes to the spot prices from the broker to the carrier. The average Van Linehaul rate was $ 1.61 per mile, a decrease of 2 cents over a month. The REEFer rate did not change at $ 1.96, and the flat rate decreased 5 cents to $ 1.99.
