Despite the powerful momentum towards the supply chain automation, many companies still face major operational challenges, from old survey systems to non -consistent signs practices, according to the VDC research report commissioned by the GS1 US.
The main challenges in logistical environments today include the following results of the group report, “Provides logistics by capturing smart data”:
- 70 % of logistical operations face reading problems in Al -Barki
- 43 % of companies seek to increase transparency in sources and tracking
- 36 % of companies aim to improve inventory management and asset tracking
- 47 % of companies indicate
“The rapidly based on data that depends on data, outdated logistics systems today, the practices of fragmented signs, and handicrafts are not sustainable,” Gina Morgan, Vice President, Global Standards, GS1 USA, said in a statement. “The need to track actual time, inventory management and smooth operations calls for more bonding logistical practices. In order for products to move efficiently through the supply chain in a system that can adapt to potential disorders, capturing the most intelligent data dependent on the basis of supply chain standards is crucial.”
The researchers said that the rewards for overcoming these challenges can be great, as they provide a way for companies that seek to update their supply chains and meet the increasing demands of transparency, speed and efficiency. Specifically, the path is to convert logistical processes in capturing smart data, supported by two -dimensional (2D) and international standards.
“Since the pressure is built to enhance the tracking, automation of loyalty, and reduce waste, the results show that companies through industries – from retail and food to health care and clothes – can make meaningful progress through BARCODES dependence and GS1 standards.
