Fleetworthy improves safety and weigh station bypass products with new risk management and ROI reporting

View Safety Map + Site Visits: A New Perspective on Safety Performance

Fleetworthy today announced the launch of two significant developments within Drivewyze by Fleetworthy. For Drivewyze’s Safety+ product, a new site traffic map view provides valuable visualization of maps across different safety fronts. Additionally, for the company’s bypass weigh station service, the new PreClear Savings Overview report provides insights into real ROI savings and opportunities for further savings.

“Both enhancements support the mission of providing customers with actionable insights to make better decisions,” said Martin Mortland, vice president of product at Fleetworthy. “Our new Safety+ map view provides an instant snapshot of what’s happening in a variety of risk areas, so decisions and risk management training can be made instantly. For our bypass weigh station customers, our new reporting tool provides clear data on service ROI.”

With Safety+, drivers receive proactive, location-based in-cab safety alerts about potential future safety risks. Alerts include severe weather, high-speed zones, cargo theft hotspots, high rollover areas, low bridges, state-sponsored sudden slowdowns, and more. Safety+ also allows fleets to create dedicated geo-fenced areas to highlight safety hotspots, reinforce policies such as stop reminders, and warn of predatory parking locations, helping reduce costs and improve driver awareness.

The Safety+ site visit map view transforms how fleets monitor and respond to risks by plotting safety events on an interactive map in the Drivewyze Hub portal. “Fleets can filter safety events by type, severity, date range, and more to focus on specific concerns,” Mortland said.

For example, by overlaying National Weather Service (NWS) severe alerts with fleet truck location and Safety+ data, managers can get an integrated view of operating conditions without having to switch between multiple sources and platforms. Managers can immediately see which drivers are in affected areas and take action to reduce exposure and delays.

“Fleet managers can then see which trucks are experiencing or will encounter adverse conditions, such as heavy snow, icy conditions or localized flooding, and act accordingly in a timely manner,” Mortland said. “Drivers are alerted to these approaching hazards to keep them safe. Based on customer feedback, if a driver is in severe weather and is not driving appropriately for those conditions, they will be sent a second alert inside the cab. It’s like having a safety coach in the cab, but only when needed.”

By viewing a site visit map, safety managers can also quickly identify which drivers need additional training and in which areas. Furthermore, they can see the exact location – there are often patterns within a country or region, for example.

“Together, these geographic visualizations highlight clusters of events, allowing fleets to quickly identify at-risk drivers, identify patterns, and target training,” Mortland added. “Viewing a map of site visits helps fleets move from reactive reporting to proactive risk management.”

Key features include:

  • At-A-glance Geographic Insights – Quickly identify which trucks and drivers are most at risk when driving near severe weather conditions.
  • Smart Filters – Customize which risks to focus on, whether they be severity, risk event type, or time range, with intuitive filters.
  • Enhanced Coaching – Identify crucial coachable moments for high-risk drivers using configurable speed limits to enable meaningful conversations based on evidence and data-driven insights.

Drevoize PreClear Savings Overview: Measuring ROI from Overflow

Fleetworthy also introduced the Drivewyze PreClear Savings Overview Report, a new interactive dashboard in the Drivewyze Hub that helps customers calculate the real and potential return on investment from bypassing weigh stations.

Drivewyze PreClear, the largest network of bypass weigh stations in North America, helps fleets avoid unnecessary inspections and tows at 925 locations. The new Savings Overview report highlights the financial and operational benefits of bypasses by measuring the return on investment from savings in time, fuel and CO2 emissions. Interactive map and graphs provide insights into coverage across North America and how fleets can optimize their bypass savings.

“By making ROI overruns transparent, we are enabling fleets to improve operations and savings,” Mortland said. “The Savings Overview Report demonstrates the measurable impact Drivewyze PreClear has had on the bottom line, strengthening the case for broader adoption across fleets of all sizes.”
