Turck Vilant Systems has introduced a smart RFID forklift system that can be installed on almost any type of forklift to facilitate inventory tracking across the warehouse. Regardless of whether users are transporting pallets of goods or a single high-value asset, the intelligent RFID system knows what the forklift is transporting at all times.
Turck’s RFID Forklift System is an automated, contactless asset tracking system installed on an existing forklift. Turck RFID readers and 2-4 UHF antennas enable reliable tracking as the forklift moves throughout the facility. Proprietary software installed on each reader reduces stray reads from non-fork assets. When a forklift moves pallets of products or parts to a different location, the tracking system communicates each movement to the user’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The data sent includes the origin, new location, and timestamp. These events can be queued if the forklift is out of Wi-Fi range and are sent when reconnected.
