Federal Reserve Governor Miran: Economic growth depends on trade risks between the United States and China

WASHINGTON – US Federal Reserve Governor Stephen Meiran said that economic growth for next year depends on the outcome of escalating trade risks between the United States and China, according to Reuters. “We’ll have to see how things go in the next few weeks,” Miran said on Fox Business Channel’s “Morning with Maria,” referring to new restrictions imposed by China on exports of important rare earth minerals and President Donald Trump’s threat of retaliation.

Miran pointed out that the situation is still fluid. “All of this may disappear in the next few days. If it ends, we have a good growth scenario,” he said.
