Spot rates raised by GRIs, but carriers cut ‘to backfill half-empty ships’

Spot container freight rates in the key east-west deep sea trade saw some uptick this week compared to the November 1 general rate increases (GRIs), although gains were inconsistent, and some almost immediately suffered from carrier discounting.
