Industry dates back to shipping security bills from both parties

In the Shipping Security Sector, the stakeholders express the support of many bills from both parties in Congress that enable the management of federal car carriers (FMCSA) and law enforcement agencies to take strict measures on fraudulent transport companies and regulate theft sessions.

Specifically, the TAPAARICS Association Association says it supports HR 2853 / S. 1404, Control of the Corca Crime Crime Law (CORCA) And HR 880 / S. 337, Consumer Protection Law.

TAPA America was formed in 1997 to address the problem of billions of dollars in shipping of supply chains. It is an alliance of manufacturers, trucks, companies, insurance companies, service providers, law enforcement and government agencies.

Quoting data from Cargonet, Taba said that the total shipping theft has increased more than 90 % and strategic theft incidents (where the shipment is began to start) by 1475 % since 2022. Almost half of thefts include daily commodities such as home tools, food, beverages, and communications, which leads to high prices of basic products.

According to TAPA, companies and sellers of supply chain invested increasingly in security measures, but these efforts are not enough to combat the increasing wave of fraudulent activity. Taba said that the fundamental cause of this is the lack of the enforcement of allocated law and the resources of the Public Prosecution, which means that many thefts are not reported or not resolved, and often the perpetrators receive lenient penalties.
