Kraków Pesa LRVS orders – International Railways Magazine

New 30 LRVS was requested under one of three signed frames with Pesa.

Polish public transport player MPK Kraków signed a contract worth 558.5 million ($ 152.5M) with Pesa Bydgoszcz to provide 30 LRVS dual -direction. The new fleet is scheduled to be presented between early 2028 and early 2029.

33 -meter LRVS will be equipped with air conditioning, CCTV inside the car and passenger information system that was adapted to the needs of blind and visually blind passengers. Each LRV will have space for wheelchairs.

Equipped every end, the first two -way LRVS will be able to order from Kraków in recent years of working on the current and planned roads without running the episodes, which also provides additional flexibility while closing the lines for the path renewal work.

The purchase of the new fleet is an “important financial challenge”, according to the President of MPK Kraków, Rafał świerczyński. This year MPK has signed agreements that guarantee undisciplined support from Zlotys 481M from the Krakow (KPO) and Zlotys 74M of European Poland’s infrastructure, climate and environment money.

“We have also applied for preferential loans from KPO Worth Zlotys 750m, which we intend to use to purchase more new LRVS,” says świerczyński. Earlier this year, MPK has signed three separate frameworks with PESA, including one covering up to 30 dual -direction.

Other frameworks cover up to 30 mono -directional LRVS more than 43 meters, and 30 mono -directional LRVS over a period of 33 meters.

“After completing the contract, Kraków will become a city that will consist of the LRV fleet completely exclusively of low -floor vehicles,” says the mayor of Krako, Alexander Meszzzki.
