May is the month of military appreciation and truck drivers in the nation can write down.
The Independent Drivers Association (Oida), which represents small companies and independent professionals, honors the month with the truck drivers campaign from 12 to 18 May. The program supports American forces abroad and old warriors at home.
Ooida donation collection dates back to 2007, when the organization began to send care packages to service employees stationed in combat areas. Truck drivers also supported the forces of a variety of old warriors facilities over the years, including those who help or housing wounded service members, disabled or homeless, according to Oida.
Participated truck participants by joining or renewing OOIDA membership from May 12 to 18; 10 % of the $ 35 membership fee will go directly to the collection of donations. Participants can also make additional or separate donations to the campaign. Information is available on the Oooida truck page for the forces.
The organization raised more than $ 800,000 to the campaign since 2007 and sent more than 3,278 care packages, serving more than 39, 276 members of the army, according to Owaida. The relief packages were also sent to 65 veterans, wounded, disabled and homeless warriors.
