SBB is looking to rent a new high -speed fleet

Rehabilitation documents published for the leasing agreement for a period of 15 years.

Due to what it describes as its “tense financial situation”, Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) seeks to obtain external financing for its new fleet, which reaches 40 high -speed -speed -speed services, and is looking to enter into a 15 -year rental agreement.

Two -stage purchase started with the publication of pre -rehabilitation documents on the SIMAP purchase platform. SBB says that this will enable it to narrow the group of potential leaseden to the most suitable companies, which leads to targeted bids.

These providers will then be made by SBB after that to the second stage of the leasing tender, which is expected to start next year and its peak in giving. The tender is also scheduled to be presented to provide the new fleet in 2026.

In March, SBB has published a request to obtain information (RFI) from the manufacturers and potential lessors, looking forward to buying the new fleet directly and entering a 15 -year maintenance agreement, or concluding a 15 -year operating contract agreement.

SBB later informed a great interest from both stock manufacturers and leasing companies while consulting the market, which ended in the beginning of June. I also mentioned that the results of the RFI exercise will be combined into tender documents and take into account when making decisions, with the inability to provide more detailed information because purchases are alive.
